'Soft Metal Model' as a process:
In many ways Grandpeople's working process is to deconstruct their given material and end up with basic elements, or archetypes. Archetypes, also known as "models", is something "solid". Then the next step will be to use these models and to shape them into products. Sometimes it ends up good, sometimes not, but most times this help them keep their work conceptually strong and simple, and aesthetically diverse.
'Soft Metal Model' as an image/rock band:
Grandpeople sees this exhibition as a stage and the band presents a setlist: a mix of original work, new work and remixes. The type of music they could have played is: Glam Metal, Speed Metal, Thrash Metal and Black Metal. Some of the work will therefore be a bit on the darker side of the scale, yet colourful.
Graphic design means office work, the opposite of how a rock band functions. So the title and how they approach the exhibition space is a bit contradictory; Yet, contrasts has always been a part of their work.
